Cameron Mackintosh congratulates Jodie Prenger

02 Jun 2008

Cameron Mackintosh congratulates Jodie Prenger on winning the role of Nancy in BBC One’s I’d Do Anything and announces further casting for his production of Oliver!

‘I’m thrilled for Jodie: she deserves this part and is clearly the people’s Nancy. She’s an exceptional talent with a fabulous voice and is an unusually warm woman – smart, thoughtful and extremely motivated. She will go from strength to strength and be a terrific success in the role of a lifetime when the show opens in January.”

Jodie will join a distinguished company of over 75 actors.
As already announced Rowan Atkinson will play Fagin; Burn Gorman from BBC’s Torchwood and Bleak House will be Bill Sikes; Veteran stage and screen actress Rosemary Leach is Mrs Bedwin, RSC actor Julian Bleach is Mr Sowerberry, and of course the three Olivers are Gwion, Harry and Laurence.

Cameron Mackintosh will present Lionel Bart’s musical masterpiece Oliver! at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, with performances commencing from 12th December 2008 and press night on 14th January 2009.

Evening performances will be Monday – Saturdays at 7.30pm, with matinees on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2.30pm. Tickets, priced from £17.50 - £60 for all performances, will be available from the Theatre Royal Drury Lane Box Office on 0844 412 2955.
