Actor Biography

Jodie started her performing career on the cabaret circuit in North England. She attended the National Youth Theatre, and made her first solo appearance at Blackpool Opera House in the Summer Spectacular. She acted as comedy support for Ken Dodd, Ricky Tomlinson, Joe Pasquale, Bernard Manning and Frank Carson. In addition, she spent eight months aboard the Disney Wonder cruise ship, in one of six principal roles in a team of 19 entertainers. In 2006, she came first in Living’s weight loss series The Biggest Loser. Her other television work includes Granada’s A Taste for Travel alongside her mother in 1999, and The Other Half alongside boxer Chris Eubank in 2000. It was BBC1’s I’d Do Anything, the musical talent search for the role of Nancy, that has brought Jodie to the West End. Since I’d Do Anything, Jodie has appeared for a short stint in Les Misérables (Queen’s), starred with John Barrowman, Daniel Boys and Shân Cothi at Bryn Terfel’s annual Faenol Festival in North Wales, and sung at the RAF Benevolent Fund Concert (London Palladium) and in a Friday Night Is Music Night James Bond Special for Radio 2. Readers of TV Times have voted Jodie their Favourite Reality TV Star of 2008. Jodie has performed for Children in Need and is supporting the current Crusaid campaign.
